De eerste zes jaar deed ik ook aan wedstrijdzwemmen, waardoor ik in die periode acht keer per week trainde: vijf keer zwemmen en drie keer waterpolo, met in het weekend vaak een wedstrijd. Middelbare school en studie gingen daardoor iets minder, maar goed.
